Do you want to learn how to make a Mosaic Granny Square? Here you will learn how to do it step by step.
Hi there, here at Crochet fashion you will find great tutorials, and i have a Mosaic Granny Square tutorial for you today, it’s a fast and easy video tutorial, that was created by Creative Grandma.
To create this video, it was necessary a extensive research which show this pattern technique was first used over 22 years ago in the Etched Copper Afghan published by the Needlecraft Shop. The designer was Jeannine LaRoche who used the 3 stitch technique for the first time.
This is an intermediate level pattern. With this pattern you can make an Afghan. It’s a fun pattern it does use a little bit more yarn than most patterns, because of the texture of the stitches.
In the video we have three swatches with different color combinations, all swatches were made.
Before we begin, it is important for you to know that this pattern was written for 8 rounds with two rounds of each color with 4 colors so it’s up to you if you want to change the pattern and use one color in each round or whatever you want to do but the pattern is written for a total of 4 colors changing colors every two rounds. The block has a nice size square it’s 9 inches by 9 inches, you can make this a small or as large as you wish.
Remember if you use a smaller hook you’ll get a smaller block if you use a larger hook you’re going to get a larger block. Found on the yarn label the hook size recommended for the yarn you are using, for best results.
Here you can free download this written pattern or see more patterns which is also available on the Creative Grandma website.
