    NOTES
    1. Main section of squares is worked in two-color spirals. Do not join and do not turn at end of rounds. RS is
    facing throughout.
    2. The first half of each round is worked with one color, and the second half is worked with the second color. Two
markers are placed when working Round 2, to indicate the beginning of each half. Move the markers up as each
    round is completed.
    3. When changing colors, drop the last loop of the old color from the hook but do not fasten off. Pick up the
dropped loop of the next color.
    4. Pieces are squared by working short rows over a section of the spirals to form corners.
    HELPFUL
Extend the dropped loop (of color not in use) so that the last stitch does not come undone while working with the
other color. Alternately, the dropped loop can be placed on a safety pin or split-ring marker.
